Suspect arrested after fleeing from police, attempting to report car stolen
ASHEBORO N.C. — Video evidence led to the arrest of a suspect attempting to report his car stolen after fleeing from police, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On March 25th, 2024, at around 9 p.m., a Deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of Kamerin St. and Caudle Rd. in Randleman.
According to a press release, that vehicle quickly turned into a driveway, turned off its headlights, and jumped out of the driver's door and fled on foot behind the residence. The Sheriff’s Office says there was a short foot pursuit, but the officer returned to the vehicle to check for passengers and call-in backup.
