Randolph ER Locked Down After Crowd Gathered Following Shooting
ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) - Randolph Hospital's Emergency Room was briefly placed on lockdown Sunday night after a large crowd gathered at the entrance where a victim was being treated following a shooting.
According to police radio traffic, officers with the Asheboro Police Department at the Emergency Room requested backup to help with controlling a crowd of between 50-100 people growing angry and confrontational. Officers with the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, Randleman Police Department, and State Highway Patrol responded emergency traffic. The Randolph County Sherriff's Office ERT (SWAT) team was alerted with some members also responded to the hospital.
