ASHEBORO NC - A mother and her three children are safe today after being located in Wayne county following a statewide Amber alert. On Monday, July 19, 2021, at just before 4 PM officers from the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to 2421 North Meadows Loop about a missing person. Olga Diego Hernandez’s family told officers they hadn’t seen her in approximately two months but within the past two days, they and other family members had received text messages from her which caused them to become concerned for her and the three children that were with her. A teenage driver has been charged after running into the side of a business last Friday. (Scott Pelkey / Acme News) ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) - A teenage driver has been charged after running into the side of a business last Friday. According to an accident report by the Asheboro Police department, a vehicle was pulling into a parking space in front of The Business Center on N Fayetteville St in Asheboro. The report says the driver applied the gas pedal instead of the brake resulting in the vehicle jumping over the curb and striking the building. The driver, 18-year-old Johthan Camacho of Asheboro was cited for Unsafe Movement. No one was injured in the accident, but the damage to the business was estimated at $5,000 with an additional $3,000 worth of damage to the vehicle....
